Re: Furling a Windmill Question
Mike I would start with the easiest first. Try adjusting your furl handle lower on the angle iron just a little too tighten the cable more.
Re: Furling a Windmill Question
Here is an old trick. IF the furling Y is down completely and the tail and the brake don't fully wind up in the right position, take 2 main bearing caps ( I use 350 engine ones for a 6 ft aermotor) and a couple long bolts and put them on the lower furling rinig, under the upper furling ring. Sure beats trying to change to longer arms up on the tower. You will need to re-adjust your pullout to compensate. Measure the diameter of the lower ring first, to get the right size caps. This will be our secret. Don't tell anyone.

Bob is that two bolt main or four bolt main caps?
Re: Furling a Windmill Question
Wow, I would have never come up with that idea! I'll have a look at the linkage and let you know. I think the cable is tight but I'll check that also. Thanks!

Good one Dan. LOL
If the furling arm ( the Y arm) is all the way down, the spacer will give you the extra length instead of the longer arms.
