New Castle

Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

New Castle

I saw this one off of US 380 west of New Castle, TX, just after you cross over the Brazos River heading west. I don't know what it is about old farm houses and windmills, but I will always stop and get a picture.

Monitor's first self -oiling windmill. Commonly called' Hambone" due to the case shape. So heavy it could be used for an anchor for the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number.

Neat photo.

I was sort of wondering if someone is still paying the electric bill for that security light since there is a transformer and meter there.

Traveling with my Mama back a few years ago. When I'd point out an old tractor or windmill, she would ask how do you see those things when you are supposed to be driving. I told her they had a magnetic force that draw me to them.
