Hi,
Just found the forum while searching for info on an 8' Challenger head I picked up. Not sure when I'm going to get to it, but for the moment I plan on disassembling and putting oil in the gearbox. It has been on the ground outside for years, the gearbox was horizontal but the bonnet was still on it. Gearing looks decent, surface rust but at the present doesn't appear to be anything serious. Hardened guide rods probably need to be replaced as they are pitted.
For whatever it's worth, I also have a 6 volt Wincharger that I picked up new for $20 at a local hardware store 52 years ago.
