When I made wood bearings for my Currie, and TipTop I made the weight of the shaft ride on the end grain. I think they last longer.

Paul,

I bought a set of bearings from Paul Cowley. I decided to make a sketch of them for future reference if needed. You may add it to the library if you choose.
Not a professional drawing but hope it will help someone.

Looks professional to me , beautiful piece of wood , its a shame its all hidden inside .
