Help with mill id

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

Well I just ordered a roper whitney off ebay. Though not sure what size die is in it. Guess I'll find out when it gets here. I'm assuming 3/8 is the usual size for the towers or 1/2?

3/8 is common here. Woodmanse towers can have a bit larger.

3/8 is the most common here as well. For bigger mills, the bolt holes are proportionally bigger. You can take a 3/8 punch hole and drill it out bigger as needed.

Ah okay, well hopefully the die in it is a 3/8. Hahaha and no problem Mike, anytime :lol:
