What are you pouring? Is it open gear or oil bath or ???

If it's a show mill, use tire weights. If it's a pumper, get some medium hard stuff. The more tin, the harder it is.

Question? Why would the Babbitt be different between an open gear and a oil bath mill. Is it because the Babbitt on a open gear is more exposed to the weather ?
