Not sure on model but would like to try to save

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

Did some research and apparently Mr.Axtel started selling his windmills under the Flint and Walling name until around 1905 . I would venture to say that's a rare windmill. Nice Find !!!

“F.W.” is Fred W. Axtell and it looks to be a Baker Monitor open gear. He sold a lot of Baker Monitors.

It is still worth saving or trying to acquire it. I’d have to see additional photos to possibly narrow it down to a specific Monitor model.

I have never seen a windmill ...not...worth saving. Restoring is one thing, saving is another.
