Post by windyview »

Hi Folks...i am new to this great site and looking for some advice....going to lift my 602 onto tower with crane rental.....what is the best attachment point?? from the yoke or from the hub connection on the motor or ???
also...how tight should the brake band be when furled....do you want the wheel stopped completly?

Best attachment point is the “hoop”. Easy to lift from there. Also helps to take some rope and tie it around the tailbone buffer over to the 3 o’clock outside sail band (if you’re looking at it from behind) to keep the windmill open and balanced while lifting.

I could be wrong but my understanding with the brake band is enough friction to stop the wheel but not tight enough that it is still able to “slip”. In case a crosswind hits the wheel while furled it can relieve the pressure or else your wheel will fold over like a taco
