after 2 months of soaking the plug on the hub unscrewed , but under the plug is a cover , plate , stopper , plug ????? any idea what it is ?

Sludge or crap in a 1942 windmill ????? I am sure the farmer changed the oil frequently to keep it clean ....

Windy , you were right , the red west Texas dirt was PACKED inside the hub , at least the water couldnt get inside so no freeze cracks !

Mike was that windmill laying on the ground to get all that dirt in there ? Hard to believe it would be that bad up in the air. !!
