Wincharger Vane

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of wind generator you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

Wincharger Vane

Post by NV-WindmillProject »

Hi everyone, this is my first post on the Forum! :D

A few years ago I came across this broken wincharger in a small town in NV, and I'm having some trouble identifying it.

The motor and tower look like they're from a Zenith, but the vane is contradictory to that. Some text is visible - the first word seems to be "Air" or something like that, and the second word ends with "ER" I think. Maybe it's a custom vane?

Thank you all in advance!

The tail vane shape is unique to Winchargers that were sold by Montgomery Ward. I’ve seen many that say “Powerlite Air Charger.” Appears to be a 6V model 37. Here’s a link to id wind chargers based on the tail shape. An updated version is coming soon.

Quick update: this wincharger and the building it sat atop have recently been torn down. I have this photo of the place from 2 years ago so you can see what it looked like.
