Good info Mike. I've not come across 4 point sockets...only 8 point....which is what I use.

I use 8 point like Paul and a cordless impact. With the impact nuts/bolts will come loose OR they will break :D and then come loose. I haven’t seen modern 4 point sockets as well.

I have a set of "Wright Tool" 10 point sockets that I bought on an auction. They are for square nuts & hex nuts. In my opinion I think they fit better than 12 pt.

Wright Tools use to make 4 point sockets, nice heavy USA made, keep an eye out for them at swap meets and flea markets, they turn up, I use them all the time working on antique tractors
Grey made them also and still offer them, they call them drain plug sockets

I am been wondering how 10 point sockets are configured to work on square nuts and bolts?
I did not know there were 10 points. I use the 12 points. Can some one post a picture showing the 10 pointers?

I think you are misreading the post. "10 Pcs" mean 10 pieces, not 10-point. You can't use a 10-point socket on a square bolt/nut. It's not a multiple of 4. Those sockets are 4-point. They work much better on a square nut than a 12-point.
