Well...I always take out everything else first. That clears the way for getting rough if you need to. Hopefully it's pretty well oiled and not rusty. I have no idea how to even manhandle something that big. Once you get everything else out, and clear the way, you can start taking mainshaft stuff loose and see what slides and what does not. Samson mills do tend to use tapered keys where keys are used, so be careful driving on a key. Unless the hub is loose on the shaft, you can usually take it out with the shaft.
