If I cut it just right, will it fit 2 6 footers instead?

Don't think so it doesn't look to be conducive to change!

Would it work with an 8ft aermotor?

I would think you would have to redo the top it has a flat piece on it for two 1/4 inch bolts. I had it on an 8 ft Samson. Not an Aermotor man so someone else may have to give there thoughts.

Nothing at least on Aermotor's part is linear scaled. I learned the hard way assuming that a 12' pump rod was halfway in between the length of a ten and a fourteen. I needed two 12' pump rods for 702 and had parts, 602 pump rods pieces etc to fab then. After installing the first and working on the second, the first customer said his wasnt spinning yet even tho there was a slight breeze. When assembling the second one, I checked and sure enough the pump rod too short by an inch and was up tight against the mast base. Luckily the wind hadnt been too strong to find out which is weaker the pump rod or the yoke. I dont like heavier than pump rod shafts that seem to pick up oil off the mast pipe nut and allows it to run down the pump rod.
