Hello, I'm new here today.

Post by Coulteryan »

Good afternoon,
Just found this board today and signed up. I have recently acquired two old mills and am trying to learn as much as I can about them. I have an 8' Challenge 27 (no tower but pretty complete otherwise I think?) and an 8' Baker Monitor WC with tower, also pretty complete. I look forward to learning what I can about these, as I plan to get them both up and running again. Located just south of Dallas.

Hello Welcome to the site. We are almost neighbors as I live a little west of Corsicana. I rebuilt a WC once. My first attempt rebuilding a windmill. I also have a 8ft Challenge 27. Mine is complete so you could come see what yours might need.

Good afternoon Wayne, yes, we are likely closer neighbors than you think. My mills are now in Midlothian at my home, but will ultimately end up in Frost, where I have some land. It would be great to meet up some time and look at your Challenge 27, and pick your brain about the Baker. Thank you.

Great. Frost is almost within shouting distance. I live 5 miles south of Barry on FM 744.
