Cistern Video
Thought some might be interested to see what a Texas cistern, the bottle shaped ones, looked like.
BTW, it's advised to keep the tops covered for obvious reasons.....

The video worked OK for me. Yes indeed, keep the cisterns securely covered.

There's several of those around me. Some have been filled in, some have the top extension so they look like a well. So unless the calf is part mountain goat they are safe. If you lived in this area you had a cistern.

I have filled in a fair amount of cisterns over the years around here. There were two in the side yard on this farm and a old well pit also. All got filled in.
