Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

Yes maybe it is. The hood looks kind of like mine, but other differences. I think Ivan might be on to something.
I counted 8 places for arms. Guess that would certainly be a biggie.

I agree with Ivan. I don't think it is a 16 ft though. I have a what's called an 11 1/2 ft and mine looks bigger unless the picture is throwing me off. Is the helmet cast iron?
