I’ve went through a case of John Deere parts cleaner and two gallons of mineral sprits. I can’t get this mess off

Well I guess it's torch and scraping time just be careful near the bearings. Have fun.

Bearings all come out. Easily.

Yes sir Wendy they all came out fine. We’re really in good shape except the lug was about gone on the bearing between the pitman gears. It was undoubtedly rebuilt before but the pitman arms weren’t replaced. They have about .050 slop

Pitmans should repour easily with a correct sized mandrel. I can do 1 in around 5 minutes, but I'm all set up. I don't think 50 thou is very much, unless the wear is close to the cast.

Yup I have used the car wash a few times have a pressure washer now the wife informed me years ago to keep my stuff out of her sinks

I put the Olds wire wheel hub caps in the dishwasher once , really made the wire bright , your right , just once !
