I have a foundry furnace. I have always wanted to test pouring molten brass in a situation like that ... Similar to pouring babbitt.

Ed , you are probably right . Melt brass & pour similar to lead based babbit , only hotter .
Have any of the gentlemen with more years of experience melted brass & poured ?

You would have to preheat the iron part to basically brazing temps & probably flux.

I mostly melt aluminum, only bronze once. I need to to more, and put my big boy pants on and melt some iron.

brass filler line bored to match upper drive shaft , new babbitt poured in guide bearings , starting to come together ,
If you remember last year I built an Ideal Steel and cobbled together a sucker rod bracket .
These photos show the origional factory set-up
ANOTHER OILING POINT !! on top of the sucker rod , the round cup .
I wonder if the owner will bother ?
