Help with mill id
Re: Help with mill id
Offer them twice junk price. Sounds great. Be maybe what, 100 bucks?
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number. IF YOU TALK TO HIM, AND HE HELPS YOU, THEN BUY FROM HIM. IT CREATES GOOD KARMA.
Re: Help with mill id
Windy , my thought exactly on the price even though that is more than twice scrap iron price these days .
Re: Help with mill id
I always tell junk collectors, or recyclers that I will give them twice scrap price. Better for both parties.

Lol idk if they will go that low, they seem to know it's worth a bit. But if I can get them under $400 I'll be happy haha. But so far I haven't had any response from them. It was just updated few days ago so I'll just have to wait and see if they respond. Either way I have plenty other windmill projects anyway

It's better to try and fail, than to not try, and have it wind up in some junkyard you don't know about.

If it's something you would like to have and it won't break the bank and regret if you don't buy it. Then buy it !!!
Re: Help with mill id
Haha all right all right twist my arm why don't ya! I'm waiting to hear back from the seller, left a voicemail and text the other day and still haven't responded yet
Re: Help with mill id
I’m almost thinking this might be the same mill that was for sale in August 2022 that I previously screenshot. I say purchase it, if it is within the budget.

Yea I saw that, I'm pretty sure it's the same one. Wheel and tail seem to be bent in the exact same way

According to the green book "" The crane co. of Nebraska sold open gear Tip Top mills made by Elgin in 1924. But only mentioned that the Elgin windmill co.sold Oil Bath Tip Top mills starting in 1919 and nothing about open gear Tip Top mills. Interesting!!!
