Changed my mine on name probably was San Antonio Machinery and Supply Co. There was a Well Machinery and Supply in Ft Worth that sold Samson windmills. Will Is it a Star or maybe a Monitor vane?
Re: Samsco windmill tail
That's from a Flint and Walling Star 37. Started in 1937, and the last from that company. Star only on one side. Nice tail.

Based on the pictures, could someone give an estimated valve?
Re: Samsco windmill tail
Usually it's what you will take and there willing to pay. Remember you can always go down but it's hard to go up. So think what you want for it and then what you will take and set a price. I see them at Canton Trades Day $120.00 and up. One as nice as yours might bring a premium especially to someone from San Antonio!

Thank for that information. I live about 30 minutes from San Antonio. I am searching for a nice Aeromotor windmill for my property, but am finding that people like to hang on to them. There are many around here (Texas) that are just rotting away!
Re: Samsco windmill tail
Ask EVERYONE you know if they know of a mill and tower you could possibly buy. Sometimes people will give them away, just to get them out of the way of the tractor. MAybe the well went bad, may the mill went bad. Tell them you won't charge them for the removal, even dig up the anchors if you need to, to get the mill. Or dig down and cut them off. Put up notes at the quick shops, and co-ops. Sooner or later you'll get one, maybe more. Not everyone likes them all that much. Some folks consider them a nuisance.

SAMSCO was San Antonio Machine and Supply Company. Founded in 1899 by my great grandfather Max Krueger. They sold windmills and water tanks along with irrigation equipment. They branched out and soon had an Iron and Brass Foundry where the Krueger-Atlas Industrial engine line was built. They represented many manufacturers from back east and the midwest. The company was bought by an investment group out of Chicago in the early 1960's and split up. Picture shows the General Offices and shops in San Antonio.

Great Grandpa wow. All Texas gas engine collectors want a Krueger-Atlas gas engine so do you have one or more? I had a Wonder A vane with Krueger Manf Co on it sold it at Poteet.
