Re: IXL
I have several binders in 8 and 10 foot length, the problem is, a single team can't really pull them unless you add a gas motor to power the machine instead of off the bull wheel. These small ones are rare in my country as almost everyone here used 3 percherons abreast to pull back in those years. Someday I may have 3 drafts but not right now.

Oops, I didn't see there was a second page, the above reply is to Wayne's reply to me.
Re: IXL
I love any thing that has a lot of moving parts, Binders, Threshing Machines, Side Shaft engines. I always wanted a horse drawn tedder because of how it looked while working. The binder at Canton was probably a ten ft, don't know brand. I'm partial to any thing IHC.
Re: IXL
Just saw a binder for sale over by Waco on Craig'slist. Since this is an IXL thread I'll ask does anyone have a need for an IXL Vane? Bought it at Canton awhile back don't really need it so if someone does have a need for it send me a PM. I could being it to Nebraska Cty

Re: IXL
Are all the IXL metal sections the same for the same size of mill? I bought what I was supposed to be an IXL a few years ago, sure enough, it had an IXL wheel and vane but it was a very early Woodmanse. Maybe I can find a motor someday as I got decent sheet metal. Have to say, for a farmer job it looked pretty good.
