I haven't climbed up there to check on the snout and I don't think I will for a couple months as I don't like heights and I really don't like icy towers with high winds. :) Am doing what I can this winter inside the nice warm shop.

I don't see much wear on the hub, unless you are talking about on the outside of the hub. (orange arrow)

This is the ring you should see down next to the oil cavity.

Hmm, and mine is completely gone. The lip has to be 2.68 in diameter, but how long is it? Likes like 1/8 or less. I could put this in the lathe and bore that out a hair and put a sleeve in it.

Defiantly check the inside of the hub. If its to worn you have to weld it up and turn it back down in the lathe. Not the funnest thing to do but sometimes that's what the job requires.
