Need Help Identifying

Have a part you can't identify? Did your parts get mixed up in the shop? Curious if that chunk of metal is a part you should keep? Not sure what kind of windmill or tower you have? Post photos of the mystery object here for the community to help identify.

If the crank plate part number on the steel star direct stroke is the same as his mill than i agree it's a steel star.

I’m still thinking a F&W direct stroke Steel Star.

I agree it definitely is a F and W mill and tower the only thing that puzzles me is the Hub. They might have made a special Hub for the direct stroke.

The hub looks accurate to the parts list. The hub for the 8’ seems to be one piece while the 10’ and larger appear two piece.

Michael what i meant was it's a different style Hub from the back stroke mill. Check out your hub on your Mill and you'll see what I mean.

Dan,

I don’t own a single F&W as there are very few in my area, but I do see what you’re saying when comparing photos and parts list to the back geared.

Steve , that is a great looking set-up , get the head down on the ground , MUCH easier to see & deal with what ails her .

Thanks so much everyone for your comments and being able to identify this particular windmill. Now that, with your help, I will be able to do more research and work on this project.
Thanks
