Thomas how many sails are on your wheel. The special has less and wider sails than the regular model, just curious. Thanks !

18 sails. The gearbox came without a wheel or tail. I got those from Jim Collums, and Dan Benjamin has all new sails for me.

In the field guide there's a picture of one but doesn't say if it's a special and has only 16 sails. Also which is pretty cool there mills were painted a deep blue and the sails were white with bright Vermillion tips and the border on the tailvane was Vermillion also. Which made it a mill with a good hue.

Yup, read that part about the color in the field guide too haha. One pictured might be a jr. or a 6ft. According to copies of old sales literature I've found online, the 8ft special has 18 blades.
