Been busy the last couple of days. Mill is on the tower. Just a few more items to take care of and it'll be ready to raise.

It was a fine evening here in Northeast Oklahoma. Hard to beat a 75 degree day in November. We took advantage of the waning daylight after work today to get the Southern Cross up and flying.

We used shear legs to provide initial leverage for the lift. Two tractors were used...... one providing the initial pull, the second used to hold the assembly upright after gravity starts to take hold at apogee. All went well without issue. Finished the evening bolting the tower to the ground anchors. Will spent tomorrow evening adding oil to the gearbox and adjusting the furling (reefing) setup and brake assembly.......and getting better pics.

Only in Oklahoma would they grow a crop of windmills !
How will you decide on a name for your windmill museum ?
You make me envious with that much property that allows multiple towers, and such quality craftsmanship .

Mike, we're fortunate to have space to play. It helps that the neighbors enjoy them also.

No fertilizer. We just have a lot of iron in our soil. 😁
