When I found out there was a Ft Worth windmill I had to have one. On the corner of Montgomery St and I 30 there is a big Antique Mall today.

Apparently they are not quite as common as you would think. Almost got mine done, did the stub tower today. Waiting for 1 bearing.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number. IF YOU TALK TO HIM, AND HE HELPS YOU, THEN BUY FROM HIM. IT CREATES GOOD KARMA.

It's a show mill. No more work for it, just sit there and look good.

Re: Black and White windmill shots
U r right about not many Axtells around. Jimmy Christen had a nice one at Calhan for sale but I don't remember seeing any others at trade fairs. Maybe with the cast bonnet they weighed so much they were the first thing taken to the scrap iron guy when farming got tough. I've seem more of the old Monitors with the Axtell name on the Vane.

Copy negative of a group of people at Capt. John T. Tucker's residence. There is a house with a porch, a large tree in front, a windmill and horse on the right, gardens, and a fence around the area. The group of people include Joseph Perry Perkins, Jr., Minnie L. Vickers, Genora Vickers, Charlie C. Brown, Captain John Tucker, his wife Sarah Ann Tucker, Edwin D. Vickers, and his wife Mary L. Vickers. Pic from UNT library.

That looks like my old sawbuck just inside the fence, except mine is bolted together so it folds flat. Neat picture.
Re: Black and White windmill shots
Is that grapes there growing inside the fence? They have stakes to hold the bushes up.
