My helper was telling me today how much he likes Kinetic Sand instead of BabbittRite. He will never go back. He pours all the bearings for X702 mills. Next time I pour a 602, I will certainly try it. Packs in tight, and smooth. Doesnt burn. Falls apart and out when you disturb it. I had posted a message about it some time ago.

Yes Bob there was a lengthy discussion about Kinetic Sand and how good it works , wood is just another tool in the tool box , all good ideas .

Just a little cosmetic work and the new bearing fit fine. Slid the hub and shaft in place put the brake band on and the mill is complete for now until spring when I can move it to the windmill barn. Eventually I'll start working on wheels and tailvanes for my mills.

Finally a picture compairing Diamond and Gem wheel sections. As can be seen the outer rim of the Diamond section passes through the sail, not so with the Gem...

Thanks for the pics Ivan.I did a little research after your post on temple mills and did see they made the Diamond windmill probably not a common Mill. I can see now how the Gem and Diamond wheel are very close. I learned something new. Thanks !!!
