Here's the gin pole base attach point. It's threaded, so the gin pole screws into this base plate. The hard part is just getting the whole thing up to the work platform. I believe this fact alone discourages many folks from trying to lift mills with gin poles. IMG_4792.JPG

Glen, thanks for info and the pics. How much do u think your gin pole weighs and how did you lift in place? Does it need to swivel or not? Thanks.

If it doesn't have the arm to move the bracket up and down on the guide rod would the rod still need the support. It is kinda necked inside.
