It is nice to know that I am not the only one on this earth that has went through that painstaking experience...
It was a standard shaft size that the machinist was able to source. However, he had quite a bit of work to drill the tapered pin holes for the pinion gears and drill the tapered hole and dimple for the wheel hub. Also he made new tapered pins because after all the attempts I made on removing the original pins there wasn't much left!
