To add to Star 37 wheels, the wheel arms were also set on an angle to
Reduce wind shear.

The star 37s i have observed the wheels seem to be intact even the neglected ones. The althouse wheeler giant runs in oil seems to be a good design with the channel steel wheel arms. I have one of those and i will be putting it up and will see how well it does. Most of the wheel failures i have observed are more due to gear box failure (broken gears locking up wheels) or in my case when I put up my first mill ( dempster model 10) I ignorantly tied the wheel up and a storm damaged it. Know better than to do that again

hopefully will get that one down and fix it this year( been twenty years). Those of you that are in the windmill business have a much better take on what ones fail the most and why. Thanks again to those that participated in this short study of wheel and blade design
