Wow, my estimates based on the person standing by the windmill suggest that it must have been around 95 - 105 feet tall (from the ground to the top of the wheel), with a wheel diameter around 61 - 67 feet. That's a TEXAS - sized machine.

Not only is the windmill big it looks to be on a 3 legged tower with an observation platform behind the wheel. Wonder if the wheel rotated into the wind under the platform. The platform was stationary.

No, the last one I knew of was in the late 50s, then wells got big enough they went to flood, by the 70s and 80s we had some 2,000 +gal a min wells, now they are back to 400-800 gal mostly as the water is playing out.
