The old open gear Monitors had grease spots that have a screw in piece that forces the grease onto the shaft.

Found I had a couple of wood oil cans. One says "Monitor All Weather Oil". It is 9" tall and may or may not be for windmills. The other is about the same size and has a paper label that says "Western Electric". It may not be windmill oil, but it's still cool.

I was told to use transmission fluid in my oil bath windmills.Does that sound right?
