Mike,
No there was nothing but the bent up tower with the head.
It was missing all wheel sections ,balance weight bar and weight box.
I was able to salvage the top 6 feet of tower that as luck would
have was not damaged. I cut it off with a reciprocating saw and the
farm owner loaded the complete unit with his front end loader.
Included a couple of may I have of the mill.
Joe
PS:
Thanks Terry for posting the pictures of the wheel hinges.
I missed this earlier.

Your welcome on the pictures.
My 14 is coming along good.
I got some parts from Dan last Saturday.
He made one dogbone for me and I made the other 5. Got the 5 done today. Now ready for paint.
Set up my jig to build the wheel today.
Have you started working on yours?
Do you need some more pictures?

Terry,
More pictures would be welcome as you progress. What part do you call dog bone?
Have not done anything other then taking the head apart ,cleaning it
and couple coats of paint .Everything was in excellent shape. Even the
hood had only one small bullet hole and no dents.
Too bad there was not a single wheel part to be found .No rods or weight bar.
Waiting for warmer weather before doing the wood work. Also the metal work can wait.
My shop is for woodwork only and have to wait to metal work out side.
I am going to modify the jig I made to cut the slots in the Monitor L wheel sections.
I noticed that the Dempster has 13 slats whereas the Monitor has either 12 or 14.

Dumpster 14 wheel
The dog bones are in between the inner and outer rims. The control rods attach to the dog bones,
There is another casting that attaches to the dog bones for the control rods. I am waiting on that casting. There is a extra dog bone hanging off of the top of the wheel.

Thanks Terry,
What kind of wood are you using to make up the wheel?
Another question, can Dan cast the fan hinges and wheel braces? From your earlier photos
looks like the Monitor " L" rim plates could be substituted ,just have to remove the extensions.
Also the wheel castings. I have 4 sets from a Monitor that I could refurbish. Would save a few dollars.
Keep up the good work.

I did not cut the wheel parts. Just assembled it. I bought the wheel from Loren Lockman.
Yes Dan can cast the wheel clips and dog bone clips. If you want some from him I know he just sent them to the foundry. I would call him soon so he could add to the order.
The dog bone is made out of 1'' X 1/8'' flat iron bent on each end with 4 holes drilled in the flat iron to mount to the wheel rims and for the cast clip.
I would think that would work. Just depends how close to original you want it.

Did you paint and prime the wheel parts before you put it together? I hope you did.
