Today I poured the babbitt bearing into the pitman arm , yes I know it's easy . !
I even cast the oiler hole . Used a small block of wood .
It took only one try this time , you remember the Aermotor bearings took 4 tries before I figured out how to make a seal on the fixture and not splatter molten lead on myself. Starting to learn how to work on windmills , NO I will never be competition to you professionals reading this, HA

Yes it is very satisfying .

Refurbishing this Ideal Steel is moving right along .
Babbitt poured , new bull gear shaft in , paint now looks better than rust color .

Windy Bob , i like your idea of painting different parts different colors to demonstrate how all the parts work together .
But , I am not as brave as you , so , I just painted the tail spring silver to show what ir does , in your honor .
