Had to laugh today, neighbor with the bad wells stopped by, he has a big old cement swimming pool and pays big $$ to truck in water for it, he wants to buy water from me for the pool when the mill is working

Well there you go! lol The time I filled my big pool, I asked the fire department to help out. They did. Didn't take long!

he said it cost him 3 K to truck it in

I did make a donation to the fire dept here for doing so. But it was a LONG way from 3K.

holds 16 K gallons that is 2 tankers , that is all this company does is haul water, people will spend the $$ to fill a big pool

You have a 2.75” pump cylinder. If you have difficulty measuring the leather, measure the brass plunger ring between the leathers and it will be approx 1/8 smaller than the leather OD. That is a spring loaded spool valve type cylinder.

It is hard to get guides for 2.5” without special order. 3 may be out there. I would buy the make up ends for air tight and local pipe making your rods IF you want to use the 3.

If you want a hand pump on top and extend your casing above grade, it would be best to ditch the 3”. Hand pumps are set up for 1.25”. Pipe deteriorates the worst right above the cylinder when electrolysis comes in to play.

Your well seal is something specific to the Goulds. A common setup is a rubber seal sandwiched between two pieces of metal. If there are bolts, don’t loosen more than two turns. They are threaded into the lower metal and there is nothing stopping from turning them the whole way and dropping the lower half.

Thanks Ron, there was no well seal on this, just the 3 " pipe bolted to the bottom of the pump jack
so I using the B602 on a 33 ft tower, you say stay away from the 3", what size pipe and pump would you suggest to be used with this ? I do like the design of the deep well pump as you can pull the guts out to service it without pulling pipe
I was amazed to see how clean the pump guts were when I pulled them out, they looked like ready to work

Windy and Ron can Tim keep his 3in pipe and pump hooked to the windmill and just run a tee off the 3in and reduce it down to a inch and a half pipe and hook it to a pedestal pump with the the leathers next to the windmill sucker rod?
