Mike whenever I can pickup a set of those old hand forged strap hinges i do. I probably have ten complete sets anywhere from one foot to three foot long. My one set of three is from the 1700s.

The history in the north east far extends that of Texas , if we have things one hundfed fifty years old , its old , in the N / E old is 1600, 1700's and
lots more people to make & purchase stuff
hand forged hinges , cool stuff !

The Spanish have been in Texas as long as the people in the NE. Look at the age of San Antonio. It's always seemed to me the people up North hung on to more old stuff than our folks down south. If I can get a buck for it at the scrap yard sell it.
