The two story part of the barn has an interesting mix of pole rafters, hand hewn beams and sawmill material. That would probably date it at over 100 and maybe the sawn timbers were a vertical mill before circular? I can see where the gutter cleaner was so it must have been part of the milking area also?

That part of the barn was build in 1915, it still has the original roof on it. It was for the heifers, the milking cows were in the other end.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Paul, It was a lot of work to restore, the hardest part was taking it apart without breaking anything. Thanks for getting those parts recast for me. I got the second one together. The picture is a regular 8ft Ideal and the second 14ft Ideal power mill.

Hi everyone, here is a model I made that I have been working on for the past two winters and it's finally finished. It has a 3 1/2 foot wheel and is a copy of the 14 ft Ideal Power Mills I have. The gears are out of an old feed cart. I lost track of all the hours it took to make but am happy with the end result. It's going in the living room

Very nice work.
I know why I’m on the dummy end of the tape measure most of the time and your work certainly is impressive.
