a short while ago there was a lot of discussion about pipe size and length and feet down the well hole.
came across this info from Fuller Johnson the manufacturer of the FPE , farm pump engine. this engine produced 5/8 hp like the Maytag 2 cycle engine but weighted 330 lbs.
Today question ? how much hp does a wind mill produce to draw water ?

A 6 ft mill produces a fraction of 1 HP. So does an 8 ft mill. Don't have my books here at the moment, but I know it's not much. Lots of torque though.

Per some Challenge literature:
6’ = 1/5hp
8’ = 3/10hp
10’ = 3/5hp
12’ = 1.25hp
14’ = 2hp
16’ = 3hp
18’ = 4hp

See how smart you windmiller's are to know stuff like this !
Your right, torque = power, dont need lots of hp , just lots of torque.
