Third one is a Woodmanse Open gear. I like the internal gear one, but don't know what it is yet. First one looks to be a wooden wheeled mill.

Where in the world are you looking at these mills? Really nice collection. I'm almost positive you won't find any of these around the area south of St Louis.

I think those are some of the mills at the Shattuck museum work barn. All were auctioned on Friday.

No you didn't Windy, I bought the first two, they have a good home! I am interested in what model that Woodmanse is also, it, is pretty neat, I got a nice set of sheet metal I hope will fit it. The Challenge Wood Direct Stroke was the prize to me, I have the steel version so now I got a pair.

Oh well great!

It's called a Woodmanse Steel. Made in Geared, or Direct Stroke model. The geared model is much more common.

Does it have a name other than Geared? I got them in 8ft but never saw a 6 and I got a great set of sheet metal I paid way too much for years ago to put on it.

I have a 6 ft. Complete trying to get it back in the air. I have a complete fan and arms. It needs some tender loving care. They are kinda bent. It fell and and bent a couple of the arms and blade sections, One day while at Canton First Monday I found a complete wheel, with arms. Not bent. You can be sure I brought it home. So now I've got the bent wheel if you are interested.
