I agree. If not, then you'll need to take it apart. Before we put a new one in a well, we always take apart and check. You'd be surprised what's in or not in them sometimes.

Thanks! So leaving it in water overnight made a difference. It is now pumping water! But if the sucker rod is moving slowly, like in a light wind, I get no water. Is that normal? Shouldn't I get a least a little bit of water regardless of the speed, as long as the sucker rod is moving?

Yes you should maybe you should disassemble the pump and check things like Bob said.

I wouild maybe install another set of leathers. If it runs too slow, it might not make water anyway. You would think it would, and in a perfect world, maybe so. It's not a perfect world.
