Vintage Windmill and Wind Generator Forum

I am curious to the color of a challenge gear box. I understand that they were green, but after scraping the red off that the previous owner applied over 40 years ago, I found a medium to dark blue and when I scrap through it I get to bare metal. We’re some Challenge 27’s painted blue?

I think Challenge's basic color was Hunter green. Don't know about the blue.

Yellow & Blue = green , ( on the color wheel ), time & weather wear may account for bluish color remaining after 100 years ,
my thought and i'm sticking to it .

This is the original color on a challenge dandy to me it looks bluish green but I'm color blind.
