Aermotor M1 Grinder parts

Post by hwy8 »

I'd like to buy/borrow the part in the red circle: "M7" on parts list--Actually, the pulley "92" would be nice too (Please PM me)

Dan, The shaft size is 1" diameter with about 4 1/2" exposed. That photo with the pulley in place came from "New Park Wind Engines" site. The one taken in the dark is mine. I also have an "N1" and I'm including a photo of that also which has a 1" shaft with a 4" hub and a pulley Diameter of 10". I don't know this, but it looks like the New Park grinder (M1) is being driven by the Power Mill and a belt is supposed to go on the spinning pulley: Maybe to operate the N1 grinder? The photo of the spinning pulley looks like the pulley diameter is larger, I suppose to increase the rpm's?

Another photo from "New Park Wind Engines" with a little different view. For the sake of scaling, that "yoke" looking part hanging on the bottom of the M1 is 10" wide.

I think this pulley went to a bigger grinder.

Dan, What size is your pulley? According to the text, the factory supplies a pulley that has a 15" diameter with a 4" face. Also, which catalog are those pages from and where can I buy a copy?

The pulley is 20in. X 4 if you zoom in on the picture of it you can see it scribed into the one spoke. Someone photo copied that info i have years ago and I don't remember who.

Thanks Dan, our conversation has been a lot of help to me. I have to say, after reading the material you have, I realize how little I know about these things! (nothing new there!)
