Graphite challenge bearings

Post by Windcatcher530 Dan »

About two years ago when I was restoring my challenge snow i robbed the graphite bearings from my Dandy. Finally found a few extra bucks and had my friend make some new ones for the Dandy. Only charged me for the material i guess I'll pick him up some German beer.

Those look great. Nice to have friends like that!

I had looked all over for graphite and oil impregnated bearings for my Butler, but ended up only finding oil impregnated bearings.

Dan, what material did he use? By the pics I am guessing sintered bronze (aka Oilite/oil impregnated).
Thanks,
Ed

Mr Ed you are correct sir. He said making those two little ears was very time consuming.

Guys, if you need something shout. I may not have the skills ... but I have several machines and can usually fake it pretty decent.
Thanks,

Mr Ed a couple months back a guy came to my friend and wanted to know if he could make this beveled pinion gear for a really old GMC truck cause the cheapest place he found was eight thousand dollars. My friend did it for 1,200. Dollars
