Monitor L

Hi all;
Last Friday I went to put up the Monitor L mill in Saskatchewan. The customer and I
assembled the wheel and tried the furling feature several times to be sure it was
working properly before standing the tower. The tower raising went very well.
After the job was completed and all was clear I released the furling lever. The mill would not
unfurl. The owner climbed the tower to see if he could see what went wrong. He said the chain
from the pulley was very tight as it should have been furling the wheel. The pullout flat bar
that hooks to to chain had play. Made no sense. Is it possible the chain is jammed with pump
rod? If so how could that have changed from when the tower was lying down to when vertical?
I am going back this week. Will disconnect the pump rod and lift it up out of the mast pipe.
Has any one experienced this situation?
This project has given me nothing but a head ache . Could write a small book on it as seems
nothing has come easy.
Joe

Join the party. Still struggling with raising the Dandy. Murphy's law is alive and well!
