I made my trip to the Tractor and Engine show at Portland In. I went to pick up this little steam engine. Don't have a boiler so it will run on air. I love steam engines and how they work. There has been a lots of debate about who made the steam engine. It has a gas engine flywheel on it. It reads Force Feed Pump Co. of Elmira New York on the flywheel.

We had discussed Myers Pumps so a couple of pictures with Myers pumps. Really a unique set up, with the line shafts.

Wayne that is awesome good for you. Elmira is about 3 hours West of me that's where I found that old wooden Stover in a barn. I'll see if I can find info on the company that made your wonderful find.

Wayne that company dates back to the 1880s. They were famous world wide for their horse drawn field sprayers. Not only did they make steam engines but also gas engines named LEADER. Pretty cool!!!

Thanks for the info Dan. Things would be almost perfect if I could find a small boiler. I figure that will be impossible or if I did the price wouldn't fit my pocket book.

Did you by chance loop thru Forest City IA on the way to and fro?
Wayne when you are looking at boilers be sure they are certified or can be. My buddy bought a boiler that looked well built but had no papers or certifications from when it was built. He was not able to get it certified. Check to see what Texas requires for boiler certification in order to run it at a show. If you know someone in your area with steam traction engines check and see what steps they have to take to get them inspected. Here in Arizona when our Case traction engine comes back with its new boiler it have to be inspected by the state before we can run it. And it will require yearly inspections.
Wayne just throwing this out, do not want to see you in the position my buddy is. Maybe you already know what is required. If you have to run it on air it will still be a very cool display.
