Made a new Tailbone Shaft for the A702

I made the pin for the tailbone today. Just as few pics of the lathe and mill work. Next up is to make the main shaft for the hub. Mine has some damage where the babbit bearings ride and I damaged the end driving it out.

Ha, my wife is a nurse and brings me hundreds of the surgical towels. they quit using them after 2 washings. I'm sure loving this forum. in the last 2 weeks I have read through all the sections on water pumping windmills. I'm from Sioux City where Wincharger/Zenith wind chargers were made. I have a new old stock wincharger 6 volt wind generator that was a floor model that advertised there products. The tail section has the pricing of the generator, zenith radio and 6 volt control box. Pretty cool piece.

Paul is this your first windmill? If it is i guarantee it won't be your last.Your gonna catch the windmill bug.

Yes it is and im enjoying it so much. I love anything steel and mechanical and old of course. nothing more satisfying than restoring things

Paul , i am relegated to old worn out hand towels & wash cloths .
You have read the electric section and see how serious those guys are about windchargers !
Knowledgeable and always willing to share info & the cool stuff .

Thanks mtblah. I am already looking for another mill of a different brand. Everything about the mills is interesting and so mechanical. I love the industrial revolution.
