Yesterday I dissembled another Ideal Steel . The customer stated it made noise sometimes ? I asked about regular maintance ? He stated I didnt know a person needed to do maitance on a windmill motor !
His expectaions are a miracle . What do you think ?

My dad's famous saying was if it isn't broke don't fix it or do anything. Your customer apparently felt the same way!!!

I think this one had grease goblins !
The pitman arm had prior repairs , someone had filled the origional worn hole with brass , BUT , never recieved and lubrication past 50 + years .

The 1st photo in this thread show the lack of a round hole on the pitman arm , today project was to start making a brass bushing , only took 18 oz of brass to fill the cavity .
next step to make both holes parallel & bore for small drive gear .

My bad , connecting pin on the bull gear goes thru this hole , dah . I didnt proof read either .

Have not found replacement small gear & large bull gear .
No reply from others requests .
Are there any in your bone yard ?
Just saw off both shafts & ship , check is in the mail.
