Bob,
I thought I had it figured out but. Spent a least an hour lying on my back playing with the spider. There is no way this mill will furl properly
with the 42 1/2 rods. There are two rods that bind up against the spring holder. I did not like the fact that I shortened the original rods
2 inches in order to get it to furl. I felt I had to pull the pull out collar as far as it would go. Should be a bit of play left.
Today I made new set of rods 42 inches and they don't bind.
My picker guy is coming Wednesday to put the mill up. I will be able to get back to fall cleanup and prepare for winter.

Ls are easy to have trouble with, the gear teeth can be off and holes off are usually my culprits. You can put them on the wrong direction and they will work if your holes are worn a bit, I have discovered this is actually handy for yard mills that never run, they stay locked in the closed position. This makes for good insurance, you got to be a real windmill nut to see they are going the wrong direction.
