36 inch sliproll

Post by windybob »

A friend of mine is selling his sliproll. 36 inches. needs a little work, like maybe a gear, ( mine has no gears) and a cap for one side. Not froze up. Guess a handle can be made easily. He's thinking maybe 200 bucks. He says it's very heavy.
Send me a pm if you are an interested windmiller.

I am pretty sure its a later Pexto, lots of schools had them around here.

The one we had in high school looked just like it but it was so new it didn't say Pexto in the casting, only a sticker. Mine is sorta like it but probably WW2 era as it has Peck Stow and Wilcox in the casting and then the oval Pexto logo too. Pexto is normally pretty good stuff but I wonder if the later ones that didn't have their name in the casting were farmed out and never made by them? I have no idea, just a theory.

Thanks. Good information. I have a Pexto shear, and was able to get a set of blades for it a few years ago.
