Jerry , the 1st thing that stands out was how good all the animals were kept , well watered , well fed , taken care of health wise .

Some neat pics and two noteworthy observations:
The construction and quality of the windmills was far superior to the dwelling construction. There was a high value on water.
There are some huge elk antlers in those pics. People collected and displayed them back then

Solomon Butcher photo from Custer Co Ne. On my trip last year I stopped at Chimney Rock in Western Ne. Bought a book of his photos. One photo in the book has what looks to be a two headed dog. The story is the people in Ne. wanted the photo's to show how well off they were so they could send them back to family in the East and brag a little. Some of them have the sewing machines and organs out in the yard.
